Intro[]
The college of combat is an ancient tradition in Aeonia, a gathering of great warriors and commanders with the goal of leaving their mark across the pages of history. Those allowed to attend its often clandestine meetings speak of challenges that test even veteran soldiers to their core, duels worthy of entire sagas and respect earned through blood and sweat that even the gods pause to take notice. Honor, skill and wisdom make up one’s standing among their peers.
The Rules of The College[]
1. The Rule of Neutrality[]
The grounds claimed by the college of combat are neutral, There will be no talk or fight of war within the confines of the college
2. The Rule of Honor[]
The honor and skill of a warrior must be tested regularly .He is obliged to accept challenges to a duel by other members (and/or non-members depending on circumstance). Once such duel is accepted college members present are charged with safeguarding the fairness of the duel by cutting down any and all who try to intervene. Aspiring members must fight 3 duels in order to petition the bannerlord for entry
3. The Rule of the Threshold[]
The Bannermen Council assign tasks requiring feats of strength and spirit to challenge members to exceed their limitations. New members must pass such a challenge when first arriving to the college
4. The Rule of Decorum[]
Members must adhere to and show respect to the hierarchy of the college while within its confines. Anyone may request the telling of a story from anyone else, new members are expected to give such a telling at their first gathering
5. The Rule of Mentorship[]
Any member can seek training and guidance from another who acknowledges as their better. The chosen mentor must accept.
6. Rule of Clear Spirit[]
No mage, aberration or marked soul may be considered for membership Too much of their mind will always grasp at the unseen to focus on the truths that stand right in front of them.
7. Rule of Clean Hands[]
The members may not accept or negotiate or conduct assassinations for coin, land or bread The deception of war is entirely different from the treachery of moving in the shadows and one cannot master both
8. Rule of pure Heart[]
Those touched by god or destiny have no place among us. A chosen of a god cannot join the college as their legacy has already been chosen for them.
